Witness the power of the Sun up close through a specially designed solar telescope. 

 

You will see that the Sun is not a featureless burning disk, but an object displaying an incredible range of features including sunspots and solar prominences: immense eruptions that flick out from the surface of the Sun, big enough to engulf several Earths, and carrying incredible power.

*Safety note: this tour incorporates the use of a specially designed solar telescope, only suitable for viewing the Sun.

Ordinary telescopes should never be pointed towards the Sun as permanent and irreversible eye damage will result.

Solar tours info and pricing:

Maximum group size: 10, with a minimum age of 10 yrs.

​

Duration: approx. 30 minutes.

​

Cost:  $30 per person, $65 for a family of 3 or more, additional $15 per person thereafter.  $10 extra for unique, high resolution image.  (Unique since the Sun never looks exactly the same on any 2 days.)

​

Tours can run almost any time (on a sunny day!).

​

Special "sunset" tours can be arranged - please enquire as these cannot be run every day.  (Duration up to 1½ hours, $55 per person.)
